Of all the weight loss programs available, this one will work for you!

"The greatest revolution of our generation is the discovery that human beings, by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspects of their lives"   William James

Weight loss programs may very well be the most researched topic on the internet.  And there are no shortage of plans and programs.   There are books and infomercials.  Celebrity spokespersons are well compensated by national "systems."  You will hear of their amazing stories of shedding weight in a short time.

However that success is often short-lived.  Therein lies the problem with most weight loss programs.  The results too often are temporary and leave the participant feeling like they have failed.  Regular readers at books-empower.com know that we are never failures until we quit trying.  We all have a better definition of failure.  We understand it is just part of the process.

There are well known group plans such as Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers. Both of these examples have many successful stories. Group participation can be a help in many endeavors. But maybe for you, a personal at home effort is better suited to your situation.   And maybe by eliminating some of the small nuances involved with these "mainstream" weight loss programs, we can achieve greater, lasting success.

This page will be devoted to those of you seeking to drop some pounds and to maintain that trimmer look. This page will be devoted to those who wish to develop a better eating plan to avoid the multitude of chronic diseases by getting into or back into better shape.

Attitude Is Everything

This page is written for those of you out there who wish to increase your energy level and to make a positive difference in the world.  We were placed on this earth to do great things, not to sit by and watch the world march past us.

So we'll start off with why most weight loss programs fail over time.

The Problems With Most Weight Loss Programs

* Calorie counting, levels of protein, amounts of specific ingredients.  Most people get tired of this mundane record keeping very quickly.  Even my melancholy personality that loves charts and graphs and numbers would tire of this tedium very quickly.

* What to eat.  I know that some of those national programs include meal plans that are shipped right to the door.  I've talked to some who love this part of those plans, but many more who get tired of this method of food delivery.

* People on these diets get hungry.  This is the biggest drawback.  Hunger overrides most reasoning about why we shouldn't grab that doughnut at 10:00 AM.

* We do not understand the methods used by food manufacturers to hook us on high sugar and trans fat loaded, processed foods.  Too many of us are hooked, just as any person addicted to nicotine.  You can break that habit by checking out the three page series on "how to stop overeating."  You'll find it in the page directory located in the left margin of every page.

So we're going to show you some ideas that will make this process much simpler.  We're going to show you a weight loss program that will allow you to put away the calorie calculator because you'll be making food choices that won't put you in danger zones.

The Mindset Of Success

A winning weight loss program carries with it the characteristics that promote optimal health.  These include but are not limited to...

* Diverse food choices

* Easy to prepare

* Won't require you to take copious notes or chart your daily calorie intake.

* Taste great and won't leave you hungry by mid morning or in the late afternoon.

We've laid the groundwork in previous pages and we've drawn on the wisdom of outstanding healthcare professionals to meet these characteristics.

Dr, David Perlmutter wrote a fascinating book titled "Grain Brain."  In it he details the growing research that links many chronic diseases to the choices we make in food.  This isn't a new thing.  We've listed other great authors who have made this point.

But Dr. Perlmutter goes a bit further.  He exposes the very real danger in excess carbohydrate intake.  He draws a very direct line from the grain overload in our diets to dementia related conditions including Alzheimer's disease.  His book links low fat, high carb meals to obesity of course, but also to type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

"You won't overeat, you won't feel underfed, and you'll be maximally nourishing your body and brain."  Dr. David Perlmutter

But if you want to grab a copy of "Grain Brain" and skip ahead to chapter 11, you can pick up on the mindset we're talking about in this page.  Dr. Perlmutter provides some great meal ideas, complete with recipes.  Tasty, easy to prepare meals.  You won't have to worry about writing down calories because the foods in this weight loss program are already lower in calories, carbs and sugar.

Which makes them lower in disease promotion as well.

The Easiest Weight Loss Program To Follow

We've devoted an entire button in the navigation bar to this subsection.  I've posted a Mediterranean diet meal plan, a page on snack ideas and some breakfast choices.  I'll be adding more recipes over time and more relevant information to make your march to great health and overflowing energy a virtual certainty.

This is the very best weight loss program.  It is the very best food program to promote outstanding heart health.  And it is the easiest plan to follow.   Here is a link to more interesting information

We've cited the wisdom from two authors already...

* Dr. David Kessler, author of "The End Of Overeating."

* Dr. David Perlmutter, author of "Grain Brain."

In the page directory, you'll find some excellent advice from Dr. Chauncey Crandall, author of "Fix It" and "The Simple Heart Cure."  He is a proponent of this style of weight loss program.

In that page directory you'll find specific postings on very dangerous health conditions.  The common denominator is that most of them can be avoided or reversed with a better diet and daily exercise.

A successful weight loss program must be clear cut, easy to follow and produce results.  I believe this featured plan has all three of these traits.  There is no reason for spiraling numbers of chronic disease other than lack of knowledge.  Surely if we know what to do-if we know how to fix it-we can turn those numbers around.

Now you know.  Keep checking in as we add depth to that Mediterranean diet button.  One of the goals that drives me every night to hit this keyboard is to help as many people as possible achieve better overall health.  I've researched, asked questions, and read some more.

This is the weight loss program that will work for you.  It will work every time it is implemented properly and it will provide lasting success.  It will taste good.  You won't get hungry and you won't give up.

You will succeed with this one.  After you do, please pass it along to someone else.  And the groundswell of cardiovascular health will grow.  Correspondingly, the escalation of chronic disease numbers will collapse.

Please share your success stories with our readers.

Just below is a quote from "Don't Sweat The Small Stuff" by Richard Carlson.  The chapter title is "Open Your Heart To Compassion."

"Every day we are given hundreds of opportunities to practice compassion in action.  We can learn to be less reactive and live with more patience.

We can smile when others are serious.  We can drive our cars more carefully, pick up litter on the streets, recycle, and reduce our consumption.

We can resolve conflicts rather than create them, and we can become less judgemental and more inclusive.  When someone is aggressive, we can teach them to be more peaceful.  Instead of waiting for an example, we can be the example.

The more compassion that enters your heart, the happier and more peaceful you will become.  By knowing that you are doing your part to create a better world-whatever form that takes-you will fill any void that exists in your life, and you will begin to find the peace you are looking for."
